LG Electronics USA partners with prank director, Jeff Tremaine, to celebrate the #SeriousWatcher with its OLED TV viewing experience.
LG Electronics USA has launched a social media campaign to tap into a whole new breed of viewers born from the streaming era—the Serious Watcher. With a focus on its OLED technology, the effort celebrates fans’ love of television by elevating the viewing experience.
The brand partnered with prank director, Jeff Tremaine, to offer surprise deliveries featuring Netflix original series characters. In the first installment, the brand surprises an Orange Is the New Black fan with a special delivery from series favourite inmate, Lorna Morello.
Actress, Yael Stone, in character as Morello, delivers a television order, shocking the buyer (whose name non-coincidentally is Christopher, or Chrisopha as she would say). The video ends with: The way shows want to be watched. LG OLED. The TV for the Serious Watcher.
The consumer electronics giant will be rolling out a series of social activations to capture how serious the brand is about entertaining, rewarding, and challenging the #SeriousWatcher using unexpected and sometimes extreme ways for impact.
“While leading today’s television technological revolution with our OLED TVs, we dream of a greater emotional connection between our products and the passions of consumers,” said Michelle Fernandez, Head of Home Entertainment Marketing at LG Electronics USA.
