The Ritz-Carlton to Set Sail with Yacht Collection

The Ritz-Carlton has revealed its plans for a bespoke yacht collection, with three vessels to call at various signature destinations worldwide.

The Ritz-Carlton has expanded its offering to include yachting and cruises. A unique foray into said industry for a luxury hotel operator, the first of three yachts debuts in the fourth quarter of 2019, making Marriott a premium accommodations provider on land and at sea.

“This combination of yachting and cruising will usher in a new way of luxury travel for guests seeking to discover the world in a casually elegant and comfortable atmosphere with the highest level of personalised service,” Herve Humler, President and COO of The Ritz-Carlton.

Itineraries are being created to combine the lifestyle of the brand’s resorts and freedom of a yachting vacation. Calling at intimate and signature locations, voyages will range from seven to 10 days. Depending on the season, the first ship will cruise a wide variety of destinations.

They include the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Northern Europe, and Latin America. From Portofino to St. Barths to Cartagena, the small-capacity vessel will call at spots inaccessible to large ships, hold up to 298 passengers, and house 149 suites with private balconies.

The yacht will also entail two duplex penthouse suites, with interiors led by Tillberg Design of Sweden. The on-board experience promises individualised service, a restaurant by Sven Elverfeld of Aqua, the Wolfsburg spa, Panorama Lounge, a wine bar, and entertainment.

Reservations open in May 2018. The collection is also available for private charter. The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai was a national winner of the 2014-2015 World Branding Awards under the Hotel category.
