YouTube, owned by Google, will be introducing shopping adverts in time for Christmas this year.
The adverts will allow brands to show their products and services in the home feed and in search results.
Puma is one of the first companies to have adverts appear on the video network.
Nicky Rettke, YouTube’s director of project management says: “This means if a consumer expresses an interest in running, they could see ads from retailers that offer running apparel, like PUMA, highlighting different products and prices.”
The move follows a spate of other social media and digital sites, such as Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok, releasing similar opportunities for brands, allowing consumers to click and buy products.
