Butterfinger introduces BFI with Halloween just around the corner

The new campaign launches with a Halloween promotion encouraging Butterfinger thieves (aka parents) to turn themselves into the “BFI” for a cash reward

Butterfinger, the one-of-a-kind chocolate bar with a crispety, crunchety, peanut-buttery taste, is introducing the Butterfinger Investigators (BFI) in a hilarious video series chronicling the antics of Butterfinger-swiping perps.

The formation of the BFI introduces two soon-to-be-beloved characters: wise-cracking agents Hugh Dunnit and Ali Byes, brought to life by Amir Arison and Alexandria Benford. The actors’ experience on well-known shows – in particular, Arison’s stint as an FBI agent on the critically acclaimed show The Blacklist – lends a uniquely comedic twist to the detective genre. Appearing at major “crime scenes,” the duo star in:15 and:30 ads, as well as a long-form YouTube webisode.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the world to the BFI,” said Silvia Borla, VP of Marketing for Ferrero Chocolate Brands. “We’ve all given in to the temptation to steal a Butterfinger or two. With these new characters solving hilarious but relatable ‘crimes,’ we’re sure to entertain our fans and show why Butterfinger is so unique and irresistible to everyone.”

Because families across the country have found that their Butterfinger bars “go missing” in the weeks leading up to Halloween, the BFI is on a mission to bring the sticky-fingered chocolate lovers to justice once and for all. Guilty parties and Butterfinger fans can aid the BFI in their quest by turning themselves in at ButterfingerCaseFiles.com for the chance to win US$25k/£19.4k.

From 14 September – 6 November 2020, Butterfinger fans can visit BFI HQ at ButterfingerCaseFiles.com and enter the US$25k/£19.4k sweepstakes. First, sign a digital “confession” for agents Hugh Dunnit and Ali Byes as the entrance into the sweepstakes. Then, share the confession across Facebook and Twitter channels for additional chances to win. And finally, only consumers aged 18+ are eligible for entry.
